AIDA EXPLORE Musical Theater Day
1000 high school kids from around MN participated in a morning of musical theater workshops led by professional performers and cast members and then a matinee of AIDA.   In your Backyard
 This annual fundraising campaign was developed for the Orono Public Foundation. It included messaging on billboards, newsletters, direct mail and telephone solicitations and raised $350,000. Bring in the Noise
Free tickets were provided were to all students at Franklin Middle School, North High School and many of the other Minneapolis Schools through a partnership with Project SUCCESS. Also included was curriculum tie-ins based on the show’s themes, teacher workshops, and cast visits to the schools. Pets and Picasso
The Greater West Metro Humane Society and Hopkins Center for the Arts, Inc. partnered on the Pets and Picasso gala to build new audiences/donors  for each. The event included raffle of architect-designed pet palaces, pet-themed fine art exhibition, pet psychics, live musical entertainment, and a special dog fashion trunk show hosted  by Lulu & Luigi. The first DIVA patio party during PRIDE was a huge success due to the fabulous view from SEVEN Sushi Bar’s rooftop and the wonderful weather. Bitch Flowers provided entertainment and Roger Beck did the floral décor. Rain did not deter more than 400 walkers from raising pledges and walking to support the animals at the Greater West Metro Humane Society’s 15th Walk for Animal’s event. The theme was Walk of Fame based on 15 years or 15 minutes of fame. Dogs got to walk a star studded path with red carpet. Jeanette Trompeter of WCCO was the MC, Snoopy from MOA made an appearance and lots of local radio and TV PSA spots made up our media sponsor list. More than $40,000 was raised by pledges in this completely volunteer- driven event   Buy a Bone for Booker
This was a campaign for the Ramsey County Library Foundation to build a new donor base. It had a mascot named Booker with friend Page and character bobbleheads you could purchase.
Ragtime

A weeklong tribute to Duke Ellington on his 100th birthday involved a free performance for 2,000 Mpls. high school students of the Lincoln Center Jazz Band, presentations by noted Ellington scholars from the Smithsonian Institute, and a community birthday party with cake at City Center featuring an exhibit of rare memorabilia from Duke Ellington’s life and career.
Fur Hop 
This first time event at the Medina Ballroom was created to broaden the awareness and build new friends for the Humane Society with an event that had mass appeal for an older west metro crowd. Hedwig at the Jungle

Annie Get Your gun Family Day
Family Night included western themed activities before opening night in the parking lot next to the Orpheum- fiddlers, cow pie toss games, a covered wagon, and family style picnic were all part of the activities for families of all ages. The Ultimate Pajama Party 
Was a new event created for DIVAMN to raise money and publicity to support programs for women and children with AIDS/HIV, an extension of previous programming focused primarily on men.  300 people attended and it garnered $125,000 in free advertising. The Star Trib which called the event “Brilliant”.
Lorie Line
Orono Alliance for Education’s first fundraising event was Lorie Line and her band in concert performing at the Orono High School.1200 tickets were sold and families enjoyed a family style spaghetti dinner in the cafeteria beforehand. The event raised $100,000. CLUB DIVA was DIVAMN’s annual spring gala featuring the best of what the city has to offer in music, entertainment, fashion, and food. The efforts of our own Club Kids- 10 young people making a difference in our community-were also celebrated. And, there were two pre events:  DATE4DIVA and the VIP Student Fashion show. Events raised $165,000. SUPERDIVAS
The high-energy design event of the Minneapolis/St. Paul social season returned March 3, 2007 for its 15th year.  Named Super Divas, DIVAMN’s 15th annual gala, highlighted the adventures, exploits & intrigues of ten “super men” from our community) and 10 younger members called the Dynamic Dozen. Barriers to Entry was a FREE entertaining & educational 40 minute show written, directed and produced  for Metro Title I students and sponsored by the MN Department of Higher Education through their Get Ready Program. The production was performed for 6,500 middle schoolers in 2007 and had a 95% approval rating. State Science Fair 
The Minnesota Academy of Science held its 67th annual State Science Fair at the Radisson Riverfront Hotel in Saint Paul. 1000 kids, parents and teachers participated in this three day competition. Events included poster and paper competitions and an awards ceremony with national speakers and college representatives.
